Chris Warren is a “hands on” builder, contractor with a strong sense of design, style and detail applied to every home he builds.
Chris Warren is a third generation builder, following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, both of whom had careers as contractors. Before striking out on his own in 2003, Chris Warren worked as a builder with his father. “I just grew up with it,” he says.
"I was a bricklayer, too,” he said, adding that he plied that trade for many years. Brickwork, stonework and exterior design and finishing are one unique and distinctive elements of any Chris Warren home. Warren is skilled at mixing and matching complementary stonework in subtle ways that give each home a one-of-a-kind look.
Woodworking and finishing is the other side of the design coin: all Chris Warren interiors have crown moldings, baseboard trim, wainscoting, framing windows, pocket doors, finely-turned
balustrades and handrails. He personally handles all the finishing himself, including the choice of colors, something he has “a gift” for.
"I look at many homes, designs, plans and places, and as soon as I spot a finish or detail like, I know just where it goes, where I can use it.” That design can be as formal or informal as the client wants it to be. Chris Warren adapts many of his own ideas into his home designs, and the result is truly livable space, a house one can’t wait to home to.
The challenge of designing a custom home is to figure out what the client wants, how they want to live in the house, how big it needs to be, what the layout should be,” Warren says. "Each home is a reflection of the people who will live in it. It has to suit them.” That process takes multiple meetings and lengthy discussions, a review and modification of plans.” Chris Warren works to meld the home into its environment; his use of windows and lighting, of interior and exterior colors, his blend of stone and wood, creates an easy flow from the inside out.
While Chris Warren develops several houses at a time, he painstakingly stays on the sites, ensuring direct supervision and involvement in the building process and hands on involvement in the interior and exterior finishing. The proof is in the detail: the choice of pocket doors, the addition of a pantry, the blend of tiles in kitchens and baths, and solid wood closet shelving.
In addition to building custom homes, Chris Warren also handles remodeling and additions, and is planning to expand to commercial and retail space development.
